Round Box Template
Volume Purchase
The Box Patterns from Artisan Pottery Tool offer the perfect dimensions based on the divine ratio of 1 to 1.618. This round box pattern will give you the proper height and width, plus a gallery tool to enable the potter to create a box with a lid.
Step 1. Throw a cylinder the same height and width as the gauge.
Step 2. From a 1/4" thick slab, cut out a round top to put on the cylinder.
Step 3. Push in the rounded gallery, followed by the square gallery.
Step 4. Cut the top off with the clay saw either at the top or bottom of the gallery. If the box if for butter, cut at the top of the gallery.
Each template is designed 13% larger to produce a fired box equal to the stated size. If you chose the 3" box template, the glaze fired box will be 3" wide x 2 5/8" tall. If your clay shrinks less leave a note in your order and I will build the template based on your shrink rate.
